Some 'Ol Dead Guy

"I became insane, with long intervals of horrible sanity."--Edgar Allan Poe

Random photos of Poe's grave in Baltimore, MD. Lousy dark pics because it was pissing down rain. No reason for the post, except I went, I saw, and I touched it, and these pictures have been skulking around on my hard drive ever since. Yup. To be snooty, I'm going to say my Poe Museum is way better than Baltimore's Poe Museum because you don't get the feeling you're going to get jacked up while you're waiting for them to unlock the damn door. And you don't have to drive around and around the block in a scary neighborhood following those little blue signs about seven times looking like you're trying to buy crack.

"But officer, I was only trying to find the Poe Museum! I've already got plenty of crack."

It was entirely too wet to roll around in the dead leaves in the churchyard, in case you were asking. But I was tempted. I'm always tempted to roll around in dead leaves.

I'm quite fond of old Poe, after vomiting up my lunch one day at work and then coming back and seeing the thought fo rthe day on the calender was by Poe and went somethign along the lines of "Only those who have sufferd are truly happy."

I found it very inspirational.

Mr. Inky and I are fond of Poe too. At "the wedding" we named the tables for the seating thing as Poe story bits or titles. I put my parents at the Rue Morgue. I think we sat at Nevermore.

No one got it, but we loved it.

Ahhhh, a true inspirational calendar that acknologes suffering and inspires vomiting! It's better than a Family Circus calendar in my book. Family Circus calendars usually just make me want to murder people.

And Inky, I've been threatening to steal your Poe wedding idea, filing it away for future refence. Except I'd put my family in Premature Burial.
