Victorian Mitts Progress

I've finished one of the 1890's mitts from the pattern I've got posted.

I whine about the yarn a bit here, and I've got another photo with a real, live hand in it.

About me. I went from mid-80's Deathrock into Victorian Gothic and I can get really nit-picky about details because I'm a vintage clothing fanatic and tend to sew/knit/crochet things from the original patterns. So if you're looking for anything Victorian Gothic check my vintage pattern list or just ask--I might have the pattern and I just haven't posted it or I might be able to point you in the direction of patterns on the web.

But I can get just as much enjoyment out of taking a 150-year-old pattern and doing it in modern materials or doing the no-frills "club version" 'cause you can't move much in a corset with 40 pieces of steel in it. It ain't too many things worse than pulling up outside a club and having to fall out of a car, spiderweb skirt over your head and pointy-toed boots pedalling in the air, right in the gutter.

That wasn't me last week. Nope, never happened.

*Severina runs away back to her dank corner*

note added later: The yarn is actually black, it just doesn't photograph very well. Thrift-store Red Heart Luster Sheen. Kinda nasty, but wearable.

They're blaaack! My camera hates black and always photogs it as either purp or dark blue.

Oh yeah, floor-length skirt--with a fucking train on it fer Jah's sake. The only time you ever see that I have legs is when I fall down...
