Isis Sweater Vest

Ok Sev, since I have not began any Halloween knits just yet. I am going to post and share my Halloween knit from last year. It's my Isis Sweater Vest.

The vest is loosely based on the "Vest" section of Vogue Knitting, fall 2005 issue. (I think) I had to edit the pattern to make my size. I also found the Ankh somewhere online and just added it by knitting intarsia. It was my first successful intarsia that was not tiny. LOL!

What do you think? I am now off to go and find something to knit for Halloween, this year. I am SO behind. EEEK! Happy weekend, girls!

Nice! Y'know, I think I have that Vogue Knitting. The vest with that long ribbing looks familiar...

I've been considering the Prudence vest and I want to add something intarsia to it but I haven't decided yet. Or something in seed stitch so you don't notice the pattern right away or maybe something like skulls or bats in a lace panel up the center. It's perfect for my knitting machine--I'd just have to do the ribbing by hand since I don't have the ribbing bed yet.

I don't think I've ever seen long ribbing or a red ankh before. Great combination and shape! And that other Isis vest photo with the Heineken is priceless.

I noticed the Heinekin too! :D I should keep a six-pack in my knitting bag...just for inspiration ya know.

Hahaha..the beer was needed. I had been sweating the intarsia. It was a bit stressful. It turned out okay though. WHEW!

I love that vest - hate doing intarsia myself - i have a HUGE felted bag project half done - must.force.myself.to.finish.

I have a love-hate thing with intarsia. Sometimes I can't get enough of it, other times I wish I'd never started the project.

But I really hate duplicate stitch. It's the only thing keeping me from doing the Snowball's Chance in Hell armwarmers. I'd almost rather do them flat with intarsia than in the round with duplicate stitch.

I completely bomb with duplicate stitch. I am too sloppy of a sewer/stitcher. I have done the duplicate stitch only once...on the Pirate Kittyville hat I made a little while ago. I prefer the look of intarsia better. But man am I stressed while doing it.
